BulletContact Us

Windsor Chambers is recommended by the Legal 500 as a leading regional set in commercial litigation. We provide specialist legal services in the fields of Business and Commercial Law, Property Litigation, Local Authority Law and Judicial Review and Disciplinary and Regulatory work. We also offer direct access within the fields approved by the Bar Council for such work, namely access by the professions, licensed bodies and, under new rules, by businesses and members of the public.

The services we provide are specialised and specific:-

  • Advocacy and representation in the High Court and County Courts and certain tribunals
  • Advocacy and legal submissions on paper
  • Written and oral legal and tactical advice
  • The drafting of documents for Court and for use in litigation, (such as Particulars of Claim, Defences, Counterclaims, Letters before Claim, Witness Statements and Notices of Appeal)
  • The negotiation of settlements
  • We also draft commercial and other agreements for use by businesses and individuals

Our work is not to be confused with that of a Solicitor. The Solicitor will conduct litigation. He or she will write letters, interview witnesses, collect and collate evidence, issue proceedings, instruct experts and handle client money. The Barrister will direct operations: advise on law and tactics, produce written Opinions, draft formal documents for service by the Solicitor and appear in Court.

Usually, the Solicitor will be the first point of contact for a client. But in public access work, the client may be able to come to us first for legal advice and we will take the matter forward without a solicitor. In case of doubt, please enquire of us by telephone as to whether the case is suitable to be brought to us first.

Our distinct code of conduct and training provides the client with objective and independent advice. We are, essentially, problem-solvers. We are analytical, sorting good points from bad ones at an early stage of a dispute, so that efforts and finances are concentrated on the important points in a case. With experience, we have developed a feel for what a Judge is likely to think and say about a particular argument. This helps us to give sound, accurate advice. We are economical with client funds: we do not embark on a course of action without a careful assessment of risk. Our fees are competitive.
